Working in the Open
What we do in public, how to check it, and how to take part.
What's open
- Infrastructure
- bitblocks is a free, MIT-licensed BSV explorer and API. Anyone can use it.
- bitblocks.app
- Conversation
- Office Hours are open to everyone, every week. The chain is for what happened. Discord is for what's happening.
- Discord
Why
- Check, don't trust
- Trust should come from what you can check, not from who says it. A public ledger lets anyone check.
- Show the work
- Bugs, drafts, and failed experiments stay visible. Critics become collaborators when they can see the process.
- Grow the commons
- Shared code doesn't run out. Others improve it and give the improvements back.
Start small
- 1 Look up one transaction in our books.
- 2 Come to one Office Hours and see what we're working on.
- 3 Make one thing of your own public: a tool, a lesson learned, or a roadmap.
